The Manaltheeram is on a cliff overlooking the sea next to the Somatheeram, a few km south of Kovalam. This resort is like the "third Somatheeram" with whom he shared medical supervision and beauty. (the most northerly is the Manaltheeram, then there is the Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Resort, then the Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort). The creation of the resort dates back to 1990 and in 2006 the two brothers Polly and Baby Mathew decided to share ownership, one calling now Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Center, the other Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort (part of Somatheeram Ayurveda Group Company which also includes Manaltheeram, the Birds Lagoon Soma, Soma Palmshore, the Somahouseboats, the Kuttanad Resort and Soma Soma Kerala Palace). The family know-how thus continues under two banners with rates very similar. Quality of care and service are among the benchmarks in the field of Ayurveda.
