The word 'Ayur' literally means life and 'veda' science of knowledge. This implies that all aspects of Ayurveda are related to the knowledge of life and art of living well.

Made famous by three wise men well known in the history of India - Susrutha, Charaka and Vagbhata - ayurveda has a worldview very green and even "eco-centric". It emphasizes the preventive rather than curative aspect of therapy and is moving toward a healthy and bright lifestyle.

As Ayurveda has been in decline in most parts of India, the Middle Ages under the influence of foreign invasions, only Kerala has managed to preserve it, and that is why this state of South 'India has developed its own Ayurvedic treatment techniques now known as the  Keraleeya Panchakarma.

Ayurveda is now a unique and indispensable branch of medicine, a naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of three forces determining the constitution of the individual:

to achieve the right balance.

Ayurveda today is as a method of care welfare. It is a natural way to rejuvenate, eliminate all toxic imbalances from the body and thus regain resistance and good health.

The balance of the tri-doshas them determines the quality of the physical, mental and spiritual, and therefore health.

Ayurveda : fashion effect?

The Germans and the Swiss have discovered the benefits of Ayurvedic medicine in India and Sri Lanka for over fifteen years, and have also invested in the creation of centers extremely well equipped and organized.
The number of visitors increasing, the concept of leisure tourism has gradually substituted for medical tourism, creating centers less sharp medically, but looking for an alternative to the SPA centers, spa treatments, balneotherapy, thalassotherapy , aromatherapy, massage, etc ... often very pleasant and well able to provide relaxation and well-being.

There are in these centers (resorts) comfort, amenities, a relational approach, which differ from certain places more medicalized but also more austere, but they however retain no less real value to reach the happiness to be totally relaxed and well about yourself.

These wellbeing-tourist-ayurvedic centers are often labeled "SPA AYURVEDA" and may not have  doctors "on board". They now begin to spread regularly on every continent, America, Europe, Asia, Africa.

In pure ayurveda, men treat men, women treat women, not necessarily in a SPA, they prefer the monsoon and mountains to the sea, natural clothing (not synthetic), vegetables exclusively, room temperature (no air conditioning), etc. ...

In pure ayurveda, well-being is due to good health, therefore, they look for real good health, global, deep, and that is what brings well-being.

On the other hand the term SPA (sana per acqua) is mainly used for commercial purposes, because there is no treatment with water in ayurveda. Howecer, if a resort has an Ayurvedic Spa, it can be very pleasant, although this was not the same persistence that if you were in a true Ayurvedic medical supervision.

Another important thing: there is a fairly subtle to fully take into consideration is that the goal of Ayurveda is to maximize your ability to life in all its aspects: physical, mental and spiritual. This postulate is accepted or not ... but it was well designed, and use ayurvedic therapies requires a personal investment, readings, a real project of welfare in his life, not only during the treatment. Say it is an investment health and well-being, and that it is worthwhile to live fully.
Among the various tools available to "therapists", there will be some hygiene of thinking, but also posture, breathing, letting go, etc. ... hence the presence of yoga, meditation, etc ...

On the body, depending on your energy profile (tridosha), you'll be fed with equilibrating substances, internally by a diet tailored by herbal potions or, externally, by vegetable oils with plant species that they will seek to enter your body through all possible means.

One way is well known : abhyanga, which from the outside is neither more nor less than a massage, in fact it is a method application to enter the active ingredient, not merely a massage for the muscular system.

This simple explanation can be very useful for preparing the spirit in which you make your treatment, you will rejuvenate, restore order which is unbalanced (perhaps without your knowledge) or fix what is broken.
